Burn Up now has it's own webpage!!!

www.burnup.110mb.com

The rules found below are an earlier version of the game. They do, however, contain some material not yet present in the final version.

Burn Up

Universal, Dice Less, Role Play Game System

Adventure is calling your name and it is the purpose of these pages to help you and your friends find it. More over, the following pages contain rules and resources to help you create and “live” out whatever sort of adventure you want. Your imaginations and communication skills should always be the main tools when you are doing this, but Burn Up can help bring some regularity to your game as well as resolve disputes in your group about what happens.

Also, feel free to suggest changes or to correct my spelling and grammar. If you change something on a wiki, leave a comment so I know what's going on.

2004-10-27 [ArchangelGabriel]: How did you solve the dice issue?

2004-10-28 [Vesthrix]: All checks are made with scores which are already at the minimum "roll." Then you just pump them up with energy. see Burn Up Basics for more detail.

2004-10-29 [ArchangelGabriel]: you do klnow that thers a dice on every page? its the D20, its completly inpreditcable and you can go back and see what it used to say

2004-10-29 [Amtharnis]: Yes, Lobsang, but have you looked at the Burn Up Basic yet. I think it is possibly a better way of playing on the net. As they say, there is more than one way to skin a dire rat. This is good lateral thinking, and for once it is not something that is just slightly modified from Gary Gygax's system... like most other alternative game systems are.

2004-10-29 [Vesthrix]: No I didn't know that elftown could roll a D20. Never seen anyone use it ether. Oh well, diceless systems have some charm

2004-10-29 [ArchangelGabriel]: sorry, large chunks of text make me nervous

2004-10-29 [Vesthrix]: That large block of text could use some orgainiation though.

2004-11-01 [Vesthrix]: I just made some major changes to the way knacks work. Now they keep get better each level you've had them. Tell me what you think. Also items will be done soon.

2004-11-19 [Wolfga]: Hey, just checking out this system, however, I changed something up at the top there. It now reads: "If anyone is interested in using it in a different setting than I have foreseen then I am more than willing to help make the necessary material." I think that makes it sound a little bit better...

2004-11-19 [Vesthrix]: Thanks. Maybe it would sound better still if I cut out the "than I have foreseen" bit all together.

2004-11-27 [Vesthrix]: At long last Items are up. How long have I been working on them? Seems like months. Anyway, there not really finished of course, just done enough for now. I would like to break down modern gear into world war age and information age groups. The thing is that the present time is inbetween the ages. The question is what should I start on next? (after college aplications that is.) <poll:37929>

2004-12-16 [Duhe Rahn]: I'll help but you'll have to email me or use the elftown messages.

2005-01-03 [Vesthrix]: Had some time in computer class today so I started reworking Burn Up Basics. Thats something I've been meaning to do for ever and a day.

2005-01-06 [Vesthrix]: Ok, I finished reworking Burn Up Basics. Now it has sub titles and looks pretty. My mother proofread it so it should make seen grammatically. She is not RPG oriented but she said it make sense to her which is the best comments I had gotten yet. Of course I'll be reworking alot of the older stuff soon to. So go read it and tell me what you guys think.

I demand comments!

2005-01-29 [Vesthrix]: Just added the magic system. Set a few non elftown friends to looking at it. I think I'm going to make it so you can pump spell ranges for more spells. I'll change that some time enless some one else wants to do it...

2005-01-29 [Vesthrix]: Creatures are up next by request in <poll:37929>

2005-02-26 [Vesthrix]: Ok, I've had some time on my hands on the last couple days thanks to the snow. I made so ajustments to spell, add a the first of the higher divisions of magic: BU Decay Magic and add the first group of creatures, the rats, to the creatures chapter. Busy couple of days. I hoping to run a game in this in a club at school so wish me luck.

2005-03-05 [Vesthrix]: Ok, just had my wisdom teeth out and in the resulting void of any real work I got some work here. I changed the way ability scores are used to calculate other scores. Now you have a major and a minor score for each ability. Skills (and avoid) are now calculated from a major and minor or 3 minor scores. This makes character and creature generation easier. It also adds more flexiblity to the system. On the bad side it adds another number to the system. So what do you guys think?

2005-03-07 [Vesthrix]: Just added BU Anti Magic Magic, BU Counter Magic and BU Null Magic. Somebody mind taking a look at them for me. I was kind of drugged out when I did them. Hopefull I'll be making so new creatures soon but no promissies.

2005-03-12 [Vesthrix]: New creatures: BU Creatures Beasts

2005-03-13 [Vesthrix]: And some more. I'm running a game in Burn Up in an after school club in 2 weeks so I should be making quite a bit of material in the near future.
